Wedding Photography Tips for First Timers

Weddings are occasions that every individual will treasure for a lifetime. This happens only once in a persons' life, a dream come true. Wedding photos are largely a part of this very special day. As the photographer, you shouldn't miss even a single detail.

If photography is one of your favorite pastime and you were asked to photograph a friends' wedding but don't have any experience with wedding photography, the following tips could be of help.

Fix your mind that you really want to do it. Remember that wedding photography is strenuous and comes with it is hard work. If you like photography then it is a big break for you to show out your talent. Getting paid issue won't matter as long as you will be able to prove that you can do it.

Make preparations. You should be prepared for the occasion. To start with is by knowing exactly when and where this big day will take place. Secondly, try to visit the places where it will be held like the church and reception hall. This will be an opportunity for you to scoop out good photo views.

Prepare Shot List. Take time to meet with the couple and list what photos they would expect to get for the album, from the march up to shots for Uncle Sam. On the day of the wedding itself, this list will save you in keeping you focused from all the chaos.

Allow the guest to take their part. Making use of disposable cameras on guests' tables can be of great help. Let the guests take snapshots for the day on their own. This will spare you from too much photos to take and focus on the main characters. Guests as well will feel more comfortable to be photographed by own family and friends.

Get your batteries, memory cards or films ready. Avoid making a mess or miss important shots. Be ready and never forget to bring spare batteries and memory cards. Bringing along extra gadgets will give you peace of mind and away from destructions.

Keep your camera in silent mode. The sound of your camera will be very distracting on the wedding rites or for speeches. Keep it on silent mode before leaving for the venue. The sound may annoy everybody and you won't be able to get natural photos.

Take your time. Keep in mind that weddings are times for fun and celebration. Although stressful for photographers, take time to talk with the guests and enjoy the celebration too.
